Princess Leia Didn't Show Up In Andor Because It Would Have Been A 'Distraction'
Briefly

'Andor' wrapped its final season without including any main characters from the Original Trilogy, including Leia Organa. Despite initial discussions about introducing Leia in a potential storyline with Mon Mothma during a time of celebration in the Senate, showrunner Tony Gilroy confirmed that the idea never progressed to casting. Gilroy explained that while the concept had interesting potential, it ultimately became a distraction from the show's narrative focus, emphasizing the creative priorities behind the storytelling.
There were some conversations early on, there was much to be made. This is in the sketching stage, trying to figure out what to do.
I was trying to get the most out of that investiture week and those parties, and we were trying to find out on the timeline where she would be in the Senate.
There were some nutrients for a scene between her and Mothma that if she was going there at 16... but it never got past that.
It never got traction, and then it became a distraction.
