Sean Burke, sent to Triple-A after poor performances, joined Jonathan Cannon as part of the White Sox's young starters facing developmental challenges. General manager Chris Getz remains optimistic about Burke's future despite his struggles, indicating the team believes he will return stronger. Burke's recent statistics are less concerning than his inefficiencies, as he leads the team in strikeouts but has struggled with pitch counts and game performance. He expressed frustration over not finishing hitters effectively in recent outings.
We believe in him. He will be back. In the meantime, we want him to go down there and really dial in on these areas that we feel like are going to take him to the next level.
there's also some areas that have been masked a bit, namely, that Burke has been inefficient, falling behind hitters as his pitch counts have often soared past 80 in the first third of games.
