White Sox' Miguel Vargas named AL Player of the Week
Briefly

Miguel Vargas, initially struggling with a .139 batting average, transformed his season and was named American League Player of the Week for May 12-18 after batting .417 with remarkable stats. His resurgence included four home runs, nine RBI, and six hits in just six games. Vargas credited a higher hand placement on the bat for his success. He became the first position player from the White Sox to receive this honor since June 2023. Meanwhile, utility player Brooks Baldwin was demoted to Triple-A.
A mechanical adjustment led to him just being able to go out there and be himself and be confident and just play the game and not have to think about, 'Is my swing good enough?'
