The article discusses a DIY project inspired by an expensive upholstered drum table, priced at $1,400. The author sought to replicate the hourglass silhouette using terracotta flower pots, which provided a sturdy base perfect for a household with children and pets. The crafting process involved stacking the pots and using wooden pieces to form the table's top and bottom. While the final cost was under $100, the author notes that the project may be challenging for beginners yet offers valuable insights for novice DIYers.
When brainstorming how to create the hourglass silhouette I liked so much about my inspo table, I immediately thought of terracotta flower pots.
While I really love the finished product (and the fact that I was able to create it for under $100), it's not necessarily a project for a first-time DIYer.
I turned one flower pot upside down and stacked the second on top of it so the bottom sides were lined up together.
This held the piece together nicely, but you could also use construction glue to assist in holding the circular pieces to the pots.
