2027 World of Coffee Asia and World Barista Championship Set for Tokyo
"The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) announced that Tokyo will host the World of Coffee Asia trade show and the World Barista Championship (WBC) in 2027. The events are scheduled to run April 28 through May 1, 2027, at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center, through a collaboration between the SCA, the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan (SCAJ) and the Korean event production agency Exporum."
"The 2027 WBC will mark the competition's first return to Tokyo since 2007, when UK coffee professional James Hoffmann delivered a winning routine en route to becoming prominent industry voice and coffee influencer. The show announcements add to an already packed global schedule for the World of Coffee event series. The trade show is coming to San Diego in April 2026, Brussels in June 2026 and Panama in October 2026."
Tokyo will host World of Coffee Asia and the World Barista Championship from April 28 through May 1, 2027, at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center. The events are organized through a collaboration between the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan (SCAJ) and Korean event production agency Exporum. The Tokyo trade show will be the fourth World of Coffee Asia event following Busan (2024), Jakarta (2025) and Bangkok (2026). The 2027 WBC marks the competition's first return to Tokyo since James Hoffmann's 2007 victory. Additional World of Coffee shows are scheduled in San Diego, Brussels and Panama in 2026, and the 2025 WBC will take place at HostMilano in Milan.
