Jason Harvey left New Zealand in his twenties, traveling Europe and selling ice at music festivals before noticing profitable coffee stands. He brewed coffee daily as an outdoor instructor in Auckland, valuing the communal ritual and morning conversations. A friend's recommendation brought him to Scotland, where he met Jock and refurbished an old coffee roaster after a failed London pop-up. Harvey launched Common Coffee in 2018 with the purpose of connecting people and sharing ideas over coffee. Common Coffee, rooted in community and roastery craft, now has a presence at Time Out Market New York, Union Square.
