Three plays after the turnover, Kansas City scored when Patrick Mahomes connected with Rashee Rice for a touchdown. The Cowboys answered on their next possession; Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb completed a scoring drive for a touchdown to tie the game. Kansas City responded again as Mahomes scrambled to convert a third down, and later on fourth-and-goal he found Travis Kelce for a touchdown. The first quarter ended 14-7 Chiefs.
