The eighth Tanween edition ran from November 17–22, 2025 at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in Dhahran, featuring exhibitions, hackathons, talks, guided tours, workshops, panel discussions and a design market. Participants included designers, educators and creatives from Saudi Arabia and internationally. Programming encouraged addressing unarticulated needs, behaviors and social shifts. During the closing ceremony Ithra announced Tanween will expand and return in 2026 as Ithra Design Week. Design activity will be integrated across the museum, library, cinema and Ithra's innovation spaces, with new initiatives activating public spaces across the Eastern Province and deepening creative connections.
