Move Over, Timmy, Duncan Idaho Is Back
"Based on Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah, Dune: Part Three looks like it will send our beloved Paul Atreides back to the battlefield. This time, instead of a bald and vitamin D-deficient Austin Butler, he's going up against Scytale (is that a Pokémon?), played by a blond Robert Pattinson. Timmy versus Pattinson ... we've seen this before in The King, and it, well, mostly worked, in part because Pattinson is so committed to playing a weird little freak."
"Even more promising than the return of Paul Atreides and his myriad agonies is the return of one Duncan Idaho, played by Jason Momoa. Remember the beautiful days of Duncan Idaho, Paul's friend and mentor? Remember how in a series where there are a bunch of crazy names - Scytale, for one - and giant worms, there was one beefy, awesome guy named Duncan Idaho? He's finally back."
"All our other friends are back too: Paul's mom, Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), with her face tattoos; Chani (Zendaya), who is pregnant; Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh) and her chain-mail hood; and who could forget Stilgar (Javier Bardem), who is presumably out in the desert still yelling 'Lisan al-Gaib!' Dune: Part Three is out on December 18, so start stashing your spice now."
Dune: Part Three, based on Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah, brings back Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides for another battle. Robert Pattinson joins as the antagonist Scytale, promising compelling conflict given Pattinson's commitment to eccentric characters. The film reunites the ensemble cast including Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, despite his character's death in previous events, alongside Rebecca Ferguson as Jessica, Zendaya as Chani, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, and Javier Bardem as Stilgar. The movie releases December 18.
