Dutton Ranch, the latest Yellowstone spinoff, premiered on Paramount+ on May 15 with its first two episodes. The episodes generated 12.9 million views within one week, making it the best premiere in Paramount+ history and surpassing Mobland’s 8.8 million views. It also ranked as the number-one streaming series of the week on Nielsen charts. The series additionally aired on the Paramount network, where it scored 2.9 million views. The show follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they move to South Texas to start a ranch. Other Yellowstone-universe series also performed strongly, including Marshals and The Madison. Sheridan’s departure to NBCUniversal for Peacock/NBC production beginning in 2029 followed these successes.
"The first two episodes dropped on May 15 on Paramount+ and together logged 12.9 million views within one week. That crowns Dutton Ranch the single best premiere in Paramount+ history, blowing past the previous record holder, Mobland, which scored a comparatively measly 8.8 million views. Unsurprisingly, it is also the number-one streaming series of the week on the Nielsen charts. Dutton Ranch also premiered on cable, airing on the Paramount network, where it scored 2.9 million views."
"Dutton Ranch follows fan favorites Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they move to South Texas to start their own ranch. On CBS, the series Marshals follows Beth's brother Kayce, and it also became the network's highest-rated new show when it premiered in March. The Madison, which stars Michelle Pfeiffer and is set in the Yellowstone universe without any of its previously known characters, scored 8 million viewers in its first ten days on Paramount+."
"The success of Dutton Ranch is yet another feather in Sheridan's cowboy hat cap. He's spent all year proving that the Yellowstone universe doesn't need Yellowstone (or, more specifically, Kevin Costner) to be successful. The success of these three new series all comes after Sheridan chose to leave Paramount for a deal at NBCUniversal, which says he can make TV shows for Peacock/NBC beginning in 2029. Still, Paramount can't say it didn't get its money's worth while he was there."
