A two-alarm fire at a three-story apartment building on College Avenue in Berkeley resulted in the death of one man and injuries to another on Wednesday morning. The fire broke out around 8:25 a.m., and rescue efforts were initiated quickly, with firefighters saving an elderly resident from a balcony. The deceased was found inside the apartment and succumbed to critical injuries despite being transported to the hospital. Six residents were displaced due to the fire, though no further injuries were reported, and the cause is currently under investigation.
