The EPA has reached an agreement with Radius Recycling, aimed at reducing water pollution from its West Oakland scrap yard that has been discharging harmful substances into the San Francisco Bay. The measure comes after Radius' violations of the Clean Water Act, where their operations released excessive amounts of zinc, copper, and other pollutants posing risks to both human health and marine life. As part of the agreement, Radius will implement better water treatment measures and submit a pollution prevention plan to improve on-site management and cleanliness.
"This order requires Radius Recycling to improve the quality of water discharges leaving the facility, which will help reduce the flow of pollutants into San Francisco Bay."},{
