"What they're learning is how one simple act of kindness can help others and something as simple as donating a box of cereal could just help those in need. And starting at such a young age, we want to help to start build empathy and compassion."
Stratford School's Beresford Square campus in Milpitas organized a creative donation drive where students collected 950 cereal boxes for the Milpitas Food Bank. To celebrate the donations, organizers arranged the boxes in a domino run that students knocked down. Beyond the fun activity, the initiative aimed to teach young people valuable lessons about compassion and empathy. Students learned that simple acts of kindness, such as donating a single box of cereal, can meaningfully help others in need. The class that collected the most boxes received a pizza party as recognition for their efforts.
