Wanted: Your ideas on making Oakland better for walking and biking
Briefly

The Oakland Bicyclist & Pedestrian Advisory Commission has three open seats for terms beginning January 1, 2026. Applications are due by September 11. Current members Patricia Schrader, Grey Gardner, and Dianne Yee will be leaving, creating an opportunity for new members. The commission seeks applicants who are passionate about walking, cycling, and safety. A focus is placed on attracting diverse perspectives, particularly from underserved communities in Oakland, in order to enrich the commission's input regarding transportation issues.
"Patricia has deep connections to Deep East Oakland neighborhood groups that have been valuable, Grey has been a strong advocate for quick-build projects and improving projects in shorter timelines, and Dianne has been a transit professional at Bay Area agencies with a lot of history in Oakland."
"Anyone who lives in Oakland can apply to the commission, and those with an interest in walking, bicycling, and safe streets are encouraged to apply."
"The commission is interested in various points of view, because it provides a rich input to the commission."
