kn-jjoy-Kerry students Irish language awards
Students and staff from six Kerry schools received Gaelbhratach flags for using Gaeilge beyond the classroom. The awards were presented at a ceremony in Mary Immaculate College, with additional recognition tied to activities such as meet-ups and meetings with President Catherine Connolly. The Gaelbhratach programme, delivered by Gael Linn, encourages primary and post-primary students to use Irish in natural, enjoyable ways. Each flag acknowledges commitment to promoting Irish as a living language within schools and communities. This year marked a record total of 165 post-primary schools awarded, including participation from all 32 counties, and further primary school recognition is planned later in the year.
