Al-Ahli secured their place in the AFC Champions League Elite final with a convincing 3-1 victory against rivals Al-Hilal. Firmino and Toney scored in a strong first half, before Al-Hilal got back into the game with a goal from Al Dawsari. However, Al-Hilal's hopes were dashed after Koulibaly received a red card, leaving them at a disadvantage. Al-Ahli's victory was then sealed with a goal from Al Brikan in stoppage time, setting them up for the final against either Al-Nassr or Kawasaki.
