Fabian Schar, the 33-year-old Newcastle defender, has extended his contract until the summer of 2026, after joining from Deportivo La Coruna in 2018. With 221 appearances under his belt, Schar recently played a pivotal role in Newcastle's victory in the Carabao Cup, marking the club's first domestic trophy since 1955. He has contributed significantly this season, assisting Newcastle in their Premier League campaign, which has seen them position themselves fifth and in contention for the upcoming Champions League.
