Bay Area Older Adults hosting Coyote Creek cleanup, preserve walk
"Bay Area Older Adults (BAOA) is hosting a Coyote Creek Volunteer Cleanup Day on Friday, Nov. 7, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at Hellyer County Park to help keep the watershed clean for local wildlife and drinking water. BAOA is also hosting a leisurely three-mile walk along the bay at Ravenswood Preserve on Wednesday Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Participants can learn about the preserve's history as well as the aromatic plants, insects, birds and mammals that make their home in the wetlands."
"Nine students at Bellarmine College Preparatory were among this year's winners of the national Speaking and Service Award from the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA). From more than 100,000 student members of the NSDA, these students were recognized for their service in the National Speech and Debate Honor Society for the 2024-25 school year. The NSDA Honor Society recognizes students for participation in speech and debate activities."

Both events provide transportation and lunch and require registration via the BAOA website. Nine Bellarmine College Preparatory students earned the NSDA Speaking and Service Award after accumulating the Honor Society's maximum annual service points.
