
"Bay Area Older Adults (BAOA) is hosting a Coyote Creek Volunteer Cleanup Day on Friday, Nov. 7, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at Hellyer County Park to help keep the watershed clean for local wildlife and drinking water. BAOA is also hosting a leisurely three-mile walk along the bay at Ravenswood Preserve on Wednesday Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Participants can learn about the preserve's history as well as the aromatic plants, insects, birds and mammals that make their home in the wetlands."

Nine students at Bellarmine College Preparatory were among this year's winners of the national Speaking and Service Award from the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA). From more than 100,000 student members of the NSDA, these students were recognized for their service in the National Speech and Debate Honor Society for the 2024-25 school year."

A leisurely three-mile bay walk at Ravenswood Preserve is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., highlighting preserve history and the aromatic plants, insects, birds and mammals of the wetlands, including the Western Pygmy Blue Butterfly. Both events provide transportation, lunch and require registration at the BAOA November webpage. Nine Bellarmine College Preparatory students earned the National Speech & Debate Association Speaking and Service Award for the 2024-25 school year.
