Dense fog advisory in place for North Bay Interior Valleys until Thursday morning 1/4 mile visibility
"The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory at 12:27 a.m. on Thursday in effect until 10 a.m. for North Bay Interior Valleys. The NWS San Francisco CA says to expect, Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Limited visibility will result in hazardous driving conditions, the NWS said. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. If commuting, allow extra drive time to reach your destination safely."
"Reduce speed: Slow down and allocate extra time for your trip to reach your destination safely. Visibility matters: Ensure your vehicle is visible to others by using low-beam headlights, which also activate your taillights. If you have fog lights, use them. Avoid high-beams: Refrain from using high-beam lights, as they create glare, making it more difficult for you to see what's ahead of you on the road."
A dense fog advisory was issued at 12:27 a.m. Thursday and remains in effect until 10 a.m. for North Bay Interior Valleys. Visibility can drop to a quarter-mile or less, creating hazardous driving conditions. Drivers are advised to slow down, use low-beam headlights or fog lights, maintain generous following distances, and stay within lane markings. Avoid high-beam headlights because they create glare. If visibility approaches zero, activate hazard lights and pull into a safe parking area or as far off the road as possible. Once stopped, leave only hazard flashers on and engage the emergency brake.
