"You may see a bear or two walking around or foraging for food and sometimes even smashing a bird feeder or two," Merrimac police noted, warning that the public should not approach approach, feed, or stop to take photos and videos of wildlife. "Most bears will leave people alone, should you encounter a bear stand like a tree, make yourself look as large as possible and make as much noise as possible, never run from a wild animal," Merrimac police noted.
