
"Thanks to a chilly storm system forecast to sweep through the Sierra Nevada later this week, skiers traveling from the Bay Area might have a chance to take advantage of incoming snow, National Weather Service forecasters told SFGATE on Tuesday. According to the weather service's Reno office, there's a chance snow will fall midweek. While Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to remain sunny and clear, there's a 20% chance powder will fall late Wednesday evening, forecast data says."
"Snow is even more likely to arrive in the region Thursday afternoon, potentially bringing an additional 1-2 inches to the Tahoe area. For the remainder of the week through Saturday and Sunday, however, conditions are expected to be partly sunny and dry. "Looking at the latest snow total probabilities, there is around a 30-50% chance of seeing 4 inches or more by Friday morning at the Sierra crest from the Tahoe region down to Mono County," a Nov. 18 forecast discussion from the weather service reads."
