The European Investment Bank Group and ABN AMRO have signed a synthetic securitization agreement to enhance lending capacity for businesses in the Netherlands, amounting to €1.2 billion. This partnership particularly focuses on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and environmental sustainability initiatives. Dan Dorner from ABN AMRO highlighted the strategic aim of aiding SMEs and Mid-Caps through enhanced access to financing, thus facilitating economic growth and promoting climate neutrality in the Dutch market. The funding structure includes a mix of senior and mezzanine tranches, aimed at freeing up additional capital for new loans.
ABN AMRO and the EIB have partnered for several years to provide financing to Dutch companies. This transaction will support economic growth and the transition to climate neutrality.
We are therefore delighted once again to be in a position to offer EIB financing to our clients. This financing will support SMEs and Mid-Caps.
