Joint global operation takes down pro-Russian hacking group

A pro-Russian cybercrime group, NoName057(16), has executed thousands of attacks on Ukraine since its inception in 2022. Recently, a coordinated international operation, encompassing law enforcement from 19 countries, successfully disrupted this group's activities. The operation targeted critical infrastructure across Europe and the United States, dismantling over one hundred computer systems. Volunteers utilized the Telegram app to orchestrate attacks, which included significant disruptions to Swedish authorities and German institutions. Arrest warrants were issued for several suspects, including leaders identified as being connected to the group's operations.
NoName057(16) had carried out thousands of attacks on Ukraine and its supporters, initially targeting Ukraine and later expanding across Europe.
The international operation dismantled the operational infrastructure with over one hundred computer systems worldwide, significantly impacting the group's activities.
More than 4,000 volunteers were enlisted via the Telegram messaging app to participate in distributed denial of service attacks on critical institutions.
Judicial authorities in Germany issued six arrest warrants for suspects in Russia, including two accused of being the main leaders of the cybercrime group.
