Temperatures to hit 25 degrees 'and maybe even higher' - Met Eireann
Mild, cloudy conditions with mist, fog, and drizzle are expected on Friday, with hazy sunny spells developing and showery rain moving in. The rain is expected to clear northeastwards through the afternoon, with heavier falls possible over parts of Ulster and lighter, patchy rain elsewhere. Temperatures are expected to be warm on Friday. Over the weekend, mild and humid weather is expected, though some areas in the west and north-west may see cloudier skies and potential sea fog, with less favorable conditions in the north. For most of the country, conditions are expected to be nice with temperatures around 17 to 23°C. From the weekend into early next week, Monday to Wednesday are expected to be dry with widespread sunshine, and temperatures should rise to 24 to 25°C in some places, possibly higher, with the warmest conditions in the southern half.
"Speaking to RTÉ Radio One's Morning Ireland, Ms Hughes said mild and humid weather is expected over the weekend, but the sunshine may not show until Monday. "It's really from the weekend and into early next week we see the good weather," Ms Hughes said. "Over the weekend, some parts of the west and north-west might see cloudier skies and potential sea fog, it mightn't be as good in the north. But for the rest of the country, it is looking nice with temps of 17 to 23 degrees, and the best temperatures will be in the midlands and east.""
""But the temperatures are really rising into next week," she continued. "Monday to Wednesday are looking pretty good. We are fairly certain Monday and Tuesday will be dry and have widespread sunshine. Temperatures are reaching 24 to 25 degrees in some places, maybe even higher. The highest temperatures will be focused over the southern half of the country.""
"Today, Met Éireann meteorologist Holly O'Neill said it is quite mild and cloudy this Friday morning, with some mist and fog as well as drizzle expected. "Now, we will gradually see hazy sunny spells developing throughout the day but with that we're also going to be seeing some showery rain move in," she said. "This will gradually clear northeastwards through the afternoon so we may see some heavier falls over parts of Ulster while it will remain light and patchy elsewhere.""
