"Due to a problem with the overhead power supply in the Channel tunnel and a subsequent failed Le Shuttle train, we strongly advise all our passengers to postpone their journey to a different date. Please don't come to the station unless you already have a ticket to travel."
"We are experiencing severe disruptions to our service due to an overhead power supply issue; services are delayed. We're working hard to resolve this. Thank you for understanding. More details soon"
An overhead power supply fault in the Channel Tunnel has caused severe disruption to Eurostar passenger services and the Le Shuttle vehicle shuttle between Folkestone and Calais. Multiple services were cancelled and the 7.01am Eurostar from St Pancras is running about four hours late into Paris. Queues of motorists have formed at Folkestone after a failed Le Shuttle compounded the problem. Eurostar advises passengers to postpone journeys and to avoid stations unless holding valid tickets. Le Shuttle and Eurostar operators are working to resolve the power issue and expect ongoing delays while repairs continue.
