Government to table motion of confidence in Simon Harris to counter Aontu no-confidence motion
The Government will table a motion of confidence in Simon Harris in the Dáil on Wednesday. The motion is timed to pre-empt Aontú's planned no-confidence motion in the Tánaiste next week. Aontú says it is bringing the no-confidence motion because of a failed promise on child spinal surgeries. Aontú also cites overall dysfunction in Children's Health Ireland (CHI) as a central concern. The confidence motion by the Government directly counters Aontú's challenge to the Tánaiste's record on children's health services and specific surgical promises.
"The Government is set to table a motion of confidence in Simon Harris in the Dáil on Wednesday in a move that will pre-empt Aontú's plan to put down a no-confidence motion in the Tánaiste next week."
"Aontú said it was bringing the motion against Harris due to a "failed promise" on child spinal surgeries and overall "dysfunction" in Children's Health Ireland (CHI)."
