Longtime Belarus leader Lukashenko signals he may not seek another term

Lukashenko has ruled Belarus with an iron fist for more than three decades and is now on his seventh term. However, he signalled he does not intend to seek another term in office.
In an interview, he stated that his successor should focus on continued development of the country to avoid revolutionary breakdown.
Lukashenko dismissed speculation about grooming his son as successor, saying, 'No, he is not a successor.'
Critics, including German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, remarked that the last election was neither free nor fair due to the imprisonment of opposition figures.
