Ukrainian NGO Accuses Russia-Controlled Luhansk Of Operating 'Child Trafficking' Database
Briefly

A Ukrainian NGO has accused Russia of state-sponsored child trafficking for publishing an online catalog of Ukrainian orphans. The database from a Russia-installed administration contains data on 294 children under 17 separated from their parents. Mykola Kuleba, head of Save Ukraine, denounced this act as open trafficking, stating the site includes detailed descriptions of the children's characteristics. Since the invasion in 2022, around 19,546 children were deported to Russia, but only 1,399 have been returned. The European Court of Human Rights found Russia guilty of human rights violations, including forced deportation of children.
"Russia isn't even trying to hide it anymore. It's openly trafficking Ukrainian children," Kuleba said, noting the website shows the names, photos, descriptions of their personalities and hobbies of the children.
"The way they describe our children is no different from a slave catalog. This is real child trafficking in the 21st century, which the world must stop," Kuleba added.
