Prosus has finalized its acquisition of Despegar, a leading Latin American online travel agency, for $19.50 per share after gaining necessary approvals. This deal, announced five months ago, significantly strengthens Prosus's Latin American operations, enabling the company to tap into a market of over 100 million e-commerce, travel, and fintech customers. The move complements Prosus's strategic goal of bolstering its e-commerce ecosystem in the region, particularly by leveraging its existing platforms like iFood and Sympla.
