Omnissa, formerly VMware EUC, gets into server management
Briefly

Omnissa, having acquired VMware's end-user compute portfolio, is venturing into server management with a new Windows Server management tool launched in beta. Customers have expressed the desire for broader device management, including Apple devices in professional environments. Senior VP Bharath Rangarajan indicated that the new software will support servers from 2016 onwards, allowing comprehensive control over server roles and feature inventories. Additionally, the architecture will accommodate multiple hypervisors, presenting a significant shift from VMware’s exclusive model, catering to rising customer needs amid changing industry dynamics and increased software licensing costs.
Omnissa is expanding its management capabilities beyond endpoints to include server management, driven by customer requests for more comprehensive device support.
To meet the growing diversity of devices in the workplace, Omnissa is developing a Windows Server management tool to streamline operations for IT departments.
The architecture of Omnissa's new tools allows for compatibility with multiple hypervisors, moving away from the VMware-centric model and addressing customer demand for variety.
In response to rising urgency among customers, partly due to VMware's pricing changes, Omnissa is targeting competitive features across various hypervisors and AI integrations.
