At a public event in West Virginia, RFK Jr. humorously targeted Gov. Patrick Morrisey’s weight, repeatedly poking fun and offering himself as a personal trainer. This light-hearted ribbing occurred during a promotion of Kennedy's "Make America Healthy Again" agenda, which aims to improve the US food supply. Despite the jokes, Morrisey has backed health initiatives, including a bill restricting soda purchases for SNAP users and promoting daily exercise. Morrisey responded positively post-event, announcing a new initiative encouraging walking.
"I said to Gov. Morrisey the first time I saw him, I said, 'you look like you ate Gov. Morrisey,'" the Health and Human Services secretary joked, drawing gales of laughter from the crowd as Morrisey sat just feet away.
"Raise your hand if you want Gov. Morrisey to do a public weigh-in once a month," he chided as the audience broke into applause.
"I'm going to put him on a really rigorous regime. We're going to put him on a carnivore diet," Kennedy said from the podium.
"I know walking every day won't be easy for everyone, including myself. But it's a necessary step toward a healthier lifestyle," Morrisey remarked in response.
