
Andres Iniesta is set to begin his coaching career next season with his first head coach role at Gulf United FC in Dubai. The former Barcelona and Spain midfielder will manage the UAE First Division club. Gulf United FC, founded in 2019, earned back-to-back promotions in 2022 and 2023 to reach the top-flight in the UAE. In the current season, the club sits tenth out of 15 teams with 25 points from 26 games. Iniesta previously left Barcelona in 2018, played for Vissel Kobe in Japan for five years, then joined Emirates Club in the UAE for one season before retiring. During his retirement, he expressed interest in returning to Barcelona as a coach.
