An atelier in Seville contains rolls of leather, spools of thread, pattern sketches, religious icons, and a small statue of a horse. Tools hanging on the wall include awls, bevelers, chisels and mallets, some made by the craftsman himself, with certain implements unchanged since the 15th century. One tool is called a pata de cabra, or goat's foot. A saddle crafted there led to commissions to make Saddle and Lady Dior bags for a 2023 Cruise Collection. Leatherworkers across Seville and Jerez produce equestrian gear and have expanded into shoes, bags, belts, briefcases and accessories. Workshops blend inherited techniques with contemporary design to serve both local traditions and fashion markets.
