Ben Solo/Kylo Ren's arc in the sequel trilogy ended with redemption in The Rise of Skywalker at the cost of his life. A proposed continuation, The Hunt for Ben Solo, intended to revive Ben Solo for a fuller redemption and to address unresolved elements of the character. Steven Soderbergh and Rebecca Blunt drafted the story, and Scott Z. Burns worked on the screenplay. Lucasfilm leadership initially approved the concept. Disney CEO Bob Iger ultimately blocked the project because it would have altered established Star Wars canon.
