The world premiere occurred in Hollywood with stars Zoe Saldaña, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and director James Cameron in attendance. The third Avatar film features returning characters Jake Sully (Worthington), Neytiri (Saldaña), and Kiri (Weaver), and introduces the villain Varang, played by Oona Chaplin. Pandora faces a new threat from an aggressive tribe that escalates conflict and action. The narrative places more female characters at the center of the conflict. The film runs more than three hours. Composer Simon Franglen wrote 1,904 pages of music for the score. The film opens in theaters on Dec. 19.
