
The San Francisco International Film Festival (SFFILM) runs April 24–May 4, 2026, with its Closing Night set for Monday, May 4. Anthony Daniels, who has portrayed C-3PO in all eleven canonical films, will appear at the Castro Theatre for a special screening of The Empire Strikes Back. Daniels, now 79, has performed the role across three trilogies, spin-offs, and multiple animated projects, often inside variations of the iconic gold costume. Tickets for the May 4 appearance go on sale Friday, February 6 at 10 am at SFFilm.org and TheCastro.com, priced $45 ($40 for SFFILM members).
