Sucker Punch acknowledges the influence of samurai cinema on Ghost of Tsushima and its sequel, Ghost of Yotei. The curated film series inspired by Ghost of Yotei includes five significant samurai films: The Tale of Zatoichi, the 13 Assassins remake, Lady Snowblood, Ran, and Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance. These screenings emphasize the developers' admiration for samurai cinema as a primary influence on the game.
Ghost of Yotei will feature a black-and-white Kurosawa mode returning from Ghost of Tsushima, reflecting the developers' dedication to showcasing traditional samurai film aesthetics in an interactive format.
