David Kaff, known for his portrayal of keyboardist Viv Savage in the 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, has died at 79. His band Mutual of Alameda's Wild Kingdom announced his passing, stating he always had a kind word and quick wit. Kaff was born David Kaffinetti in 1946 and was a founding member of the British psychedelic rock band Rare Bird, known for their hit "Sympathy." He also played with Chuck Berry and contributed to Spinal Tap's soundtrack.
