Decoding Glenn Close, the actress who escaped a cult and confronted Hollywood's sexist cliches
Briefly

The documentary, Glenn Close, l'art de la transformation, directed by Catherine Ulmer Lopez, provides an intimate look at the accomplished actress Glenn Close. Initially skeptical about an interview, Close eventually agreed, under the condition that her personal life would remain private. The film includes archival footage and insights from collaborators, showcasing her professional decisions, such as declining a role in Dune that featured stereotypical female tropes. Set for a premiere on Movistar+ in Spain, the film aims to celebrate Close's transformative artistry and her notable career achievements, including her multiple Golden Globe wins and Oscar nominations.
I think it was the first or second film they offered me. I read the script, and they had this typical scene where the characters are running through the sand, and the woman, who always wears the wrong shoes, falls as the monster approaches. And the others have to go back and save her. I said, I don't want to play that role. I don't want to be the one who falls.'
Before speaking with her, we interviewed her friends James Nadeaux and Pierre-Yves Gayraud, costume designers, who filled her in. Let's just say we came well-recommended, and that made things easier.
