And the project has already lined up a screenwriter as well: Gary Dauberman, a writer whose experience includes the It movies and the Annabelle films. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lin will produce the movie through his Perfect Storm Entertainment company."

Justin Lin will produce a Helldivers feature film through Perfect Storm Entertainment, with Gary Dauberman attached as screenwriter. Lin plans a take that leverages his inexperience as a gamer to find humanity in characters, weave timely themes, and build world and mythology. Lin previously directed multiple Fast & Furious films and Star Trek Beyond, and is signed to adapt One-Punch Man. Helldivers 2 is a hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, featuring soldiers protecting Super Earth from Bugs, Cyborgs, and Illuminate. Sony's PlayStation Productions has recent film and TV successes including Uncharted, The Last of Us, and Twisted Metal.
