An Instagram post reveals the Superman sequel title and release date as Man of Tomorrow, scheduled for July 9th, 2027. A Jim Lee illustration accompanying the post shows Superman alongside Lex Luthor inside one of his Warsuits. The image implies an on-screen clash between David Corenswet's Superman and Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor, potentially featuring an armored Warsuit battle. DC Studios appears to have repurposed an original subtitle from an upcoming Supergirl feature for the Superman follow-up. The announcement provides confirmed title, date, and a visual hint about the next chapter of the cinematic universe.
James Gunn has been coy about his plans for a follow-up to this year's excellent Superman movie, but the writer / director is finally sharing some concrete news about what's next for the Man of Steel. Gunn announced in an Instagram post today that the Superman sequel will be titled Man of Tomorrow and hit theaters on July 9th, 2027.
The Instagram post included a Jim Lee illustration of Superman and Lex Luthor in one of his Warsuits, which could mean we'll be seeing David Corenswet fighting Nicholas Hoult in a ridiculous armored suit. And it seems as if DC Studios might have taken the original subtitle of its upcoming Supergirl feature and reworked it for the star of its new cinematic universe.
