JJ Abrams' Wild New Crime Thriller Wouldn't Have Happened Without Josh Holloway
Briefly

LaToya Morgan and J.J. Abrams teamed up to create a crime drama set in the '70s for HBO Max, inspired by Abrams' long-held image of a muscle car and a ringing phone booth. Their show centers on a getaway driver and an ambitious FBI agent. Josh Holloway, a favorite from 'Lost,' was chosen as the lead, with both creators enthusiastic about his fit for the role. Their reunion after 21 years was seamless, highlighting the chemistry they developed during their prior collaboration.
We wrote the show from the beginning with Josh in mind. There was no other person. It was always Josh.
[Abrams] called me out of the blue, and before he could even finish his name, I was like, 'Yes, J.J., yes. What are we doing?'
He gets to run the gamut and do a lot of things that people have been wanting to see him do.
Though it had been more than two decades since Holloway and Abrams had worked together, they immediately fell into their old rapport.
