Omar Benson Miller discusses the challenges faced during filming, particularly in scenes that required precision due to time constraints with lighting. One of the climactic moments involved action where actors sustained hits and had to perform with rapid responses before the rising sun affected visibility. This urgency was compounded by less-than-ideal filming conditions, such as crawling on the ground covered in bugs and chiggers, making the sequence even more difficult to manage. Miller highlights the collaborative effort to execute these scenes under pressure.
One of the hardest parts to shoot on this film was at the end for those of us who had turned, which in this case is just me.
There were quite a few scenes where we were fighting the light, especially while doing the dance in the circle.
When we get hit in the head and crawl on the ground, the ground is full of bugs and chiggers, adding to the challenge.
That all had to be done within a very short window because the sun was coming up, intensifying the pressure to get it right.
