New Lara Croft Actor Discusses Her Take On The Character: "No Laras Left Behind"
"I've looked at all of the performances. Obviously, I've got all the scripts, so I know where it's going, and, you know, I think all of the Laras that have previously come before will also be informing as we move into a new era of Tomb Raider, I would say."
"Wherever you fall, whether it's the original, the remasters, the classics, the Survivor trilogy, wherever on that spectrum ... you are going to love it."
Alix Wilton-Regan has been cast as the new Lara Croft for the upcoming Tomb Raider: Catalyst game. She adopts a "no Laras left behind" approach, meaning she will embrace elements from all previous Lara performances while making her own contribution to the character. Wilton-Regan has studied all prior performances and scripts to inform her portrayal. She describes Catalyst as "brilliant" and believes fans across the entire Tomb Raider spectrum—from original games to the Survivor trilogy—will enjoy it. She replaces Camilla Luddington, who played Lara in the previous three games. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a remake of the original, releases this year for the franchise's 30th anniversary, with Catalyst following in 2027.
