"I saw his performance this week. They're gonna love it. He's playing a great character. If the movie's successful, hopefully he comes back."
"He's one of the greatest people I know, quite honestly. As you guys have experienced, he's such a giving man. I always like spending time with him, and [Five Nights at Freddy's 2] was no exception."
"I'm like, 'I'm not doing Springtap until I do Springtap in the movie.' So the only way I do Springtap is that people go see the movie on December 5! And then we make a third."
Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich reunite onscreen in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, with Lillard reprising William Afton, the creator of murderous animatronics inhabited by child spirits. Ulrich's role remains undisclosed, and Lillard praised his performance while suggesting the character could return if the film succeeds. Ulrich praised Lillard's generosity and enjoyment working together. Lillard confirmed Afton's transformation into Springtrap in the film and declined to voice Springtrap in Dead by Daylight until he performs the role on screen. The sequel opens December 5 and features returning and new cast members including Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio, Elizabeth Lail, Mckenna Grace, Teo Briones, and Wayne Knight.
