The film won a Golden Globe and features a dreamy sequence linking the past and future of Black music. The movie is screening at PAM CUT's Tomorrow Theater as part of a Vamp Jan series. Detroit house legend Alton Miller will perform a transportive four-hour set at Sonder Listening Bar, blending soul and funk influences with deep house; local DJs Krista Basis and Phjay open. New Wave Opera will premiere Deep Water, a climate-change commentary described as a "post-apocalyptic fant".
