In November 2004, stunt driver Rocky Capella took on a daring jump for the film 'Just Like Heaven'. The scene required him to launch a Chevy panel van off a ramp down a steep hill. Despite nursing a back injury, Capella successfully completed the stunt in one take, landing 56 feet away. However, the van was destroyed upon landing, and even though he was unable to repeat it, he described it as one of the most memorable stunts of his career, which includes work on major films like 'The Matrix Resurrections.'
Capella's foot hit the gas, and the white Chevy panel van launched off the ramp and sailed through the air... "Can you do it again?" He couldn't.
Despite it all, it was one of the most memorable stunts of his career, which spans 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' and 'The Matrix Resurrections.'
'But hey, I did it in one take,' he told SFGATE with a laugh. And despite it all, it was one of the most memorable stunts of his career.
This was no heart-stopping 'Bullitt'-esque action sequence. Instead, it was an offbeat 'get the girl' moment involving a ragtag therapist.
