The 2025 Toronto International Film Festival will occur from September 4-14, celebrating its 50th anniversary. Aziz Ansari’s film Good Fortune, starring Keanu Reeves, will premiere after previous delays. A number of actors, including Maude Apatow and Brian Cox, will debut as directors. Other highlighted films include Rian Johnson's Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery and Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein. The festival opens with Colin Hanks's documentary on John Candy and closes with Peak Everything directed by Anne Émond. The full program will be available by August 12.

Confirmed world premieres include Rian Johnson's Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery and Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, alongside many debut feature directors.
Opening the festival is Colin Hanks’s documentary about John Candy, while the closing film will be Canadian director Anne Émond’s Peak Everything.
