Wicked: For Good has released its first teaser, celebrating six months until the sequel’s theatrical release. The film will revisit the land of Oz, featuring beloved characters Elphaba, Glinda, and Fiyero. This sequel’s title references their poignant duet and hints at a darker tone with its teaser showing a cracked window of the Emerald City. Fans in the US and Canada will get to see the full trailer on June 4 during a one-night-only theater event. Importantly, the plot will also be modified to ensure it portrays disability in a more sensitive manner.
"The countdown begins. In six months, return to Oz," the social media accounts for Wicked wrote.
The plot of Wicked: For Good is also set to be changed from the original musical to be "less harmful to disabled people".
This teaser footage shows a window high up in what appears to be the Emerald City with a spiderweb of cracks spreading across it.
As announced, only fans in the US and Canada who go to see Wicked when it re-releases in theatre on June 4 will get to see the trailer.
